Everania is my homebrew D&D world. This page will mostly contain lore and setting information, and not so much NPC information (at least for now). While this world was originally made to a d&d campaign, I like to write short stories about the characters and worldbuild like I am making a regular fantasy world rather than just a D&D world.

I want to warn anyone looking at this page that this WILL have spoilers.

Everania world map A work-in-progress of the Everanian world map. Going from top left to bottom right, there is a blacked out section labeled "?????", a large, green continent named "Dridales," a desert continent named "Dustrun," a swampy continent named "Mistshore," a continent named "Cloudmoor," an archipelago named "Krasheim," and an antarctic continent named "Caalartiska."

Players' Guide

Basic History

Everania has a long history that spans far past mortal memory. All anyone but the major deities know is that existence began with a mythical mountain named The Gods' Summit, and from it sprang the major deities, who would later create everything.

Material Plane Locations

Caalartiska

The most common humanoid species in Caalartiska are Expanse Dwarves and Expanse Elves.

Caela

This continent was the first place made by the gods in the Material Plane, specifically designed as a home for them. Nobody enters or exits without permission, which is to say, no one can get there. All anyone knows about it is that it is the farthest northern continent, and that The Gods' Summit is somewhere on it.

Cloudmoor

Cloudmoor is the second smallest continent, but it manages to fit three city-states.

Magebrook is the biggest and has the biggest economy. It acts as a defacto leader over Cloudmoor's international relations. Its a monarchy run by the Dawnbringer royal family. Magebrook is a pretty welcoming metropolis; any and all species are welcome and make their homes here. The Elf population are mainly High Elves. It controls the towns surrounding the gulf named after the city: Brittlebarrow, Bareport, Whalereach, Stormfall, Stormvale, and Southbell. Magebrook is also home to the Bards College.

Dawnpoint is the second largest city on this continent. It is a theocracy, ruled by the Temple of Enia, but is also home to temples to every major deity. Festivals held in this city tend to swing towards celebrating the sun god. Dawnpoint is a circular city, with three rings. The outer ring is split into two: the left is the lower class residential ring, and the right is the Marketplace Half Ring. The middle ring is designated for the noble and upper class houses. The innermost ring is the Temple Ring. The largest temple is on the eastern side, and is dedicated to Enia. Generally, the farther to the east in the district a building is, the higher the status it is (to be closer to where the sun rises). It controls the two towns to the north and south for food production: Glimmertide and Suncross.

Whiterock is the smallest city on Cloudmoor, and is located on the north western side of the continent. It is protected by a river and mountains to its north, and by a forest to the East. Whiterock makes just enough food with its farms to support the population, and it makes its money by selling what the people mine up. It is almost small enough to be the kind of place where everyone knows everyone, but not quite. The population of Whiterock is mostly humans, dwarves, and elves, but a couple of halflings and gnomes. The majority of Elves are Wood Elves, and the majority of Dwarves are Mountain Dwarves. Whiterock's government is run by the military because the city regularly suffers attacks from fiends. Because of these attacks, it is hypothesized that there is a portal to the Hells deep within the mountain. The town is named after the largest mountain on the continent, which Whiterock also sits at its base.

Dridales

Dridales is the continent on the far western side of the world. It's denizins are mostly elves and fey creatures. It is extremely isolationist, so any non-fey or non-elf are mostly kept to a few key cities on its edge. This continent holds the oldest mortal settlements in the Material Plane.

Sirion is the biggest and most powerful country on this continent, and perhaps even the whole plane. It's capital is Silvyr.

The majority of the population are elves: high elves (37%), wood elves (36%), drow (6%), eladrin (10%), and expanse elves (10%). The last 1% are other species.

Dustrun

Dustrun is a desert

Mistshore

Mistshore is a lush jungle. Mistshore has permanent [portals] to the Elemental Plane on it, as well as plenty of temporary portals. Tu’uhi is the oldest city on Mistshore. Oceanmire.

Krasheim

Khaghrim is the main city on Krasheim. It is located in a cave on the largest island of the archipelago.
